Mission - The Green Spring Tennis and Educational Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides free or discounted cultural and musical activities in the Baltimore community and surrounding areas. GSTEF had in the past promoted the development and growth of tennis activities for youth and adults. It also had provided academic tutoring along to the area's underserved youth.

Some organizations that GSTEF works with in the past - Special Olympics of Maryland, Camp Honey Bee, The Harbour School, Jemicy School, S.T.A.R.S. Program, Baltimore County area schools, C.H.A.M.P.S., Cockeysville Recreation and Parks Dept., and various nursing and assisted living facilities and other venues in the area.

What We Provide for Our Community

The GSTEF team provides cultural activity programs to assisted living and nursing homes and other venues in the Baltimore area.

Free Adaptive Programming (in the past) - GSTEF offered specifically tailored programming for groups in our community that are developmentally disabled. These groups include those with learning disabilities, autism and Down syndrome.

We had a strong partnership with the Special Olympics of Maryland and train the Special Olympic athletes to compete in all levels of tournament play.

Using tennis as an incentive, we capture the attention, interest and potential of the youth and adults who take part in the program. The level of the tennis and the life skills curriculum is tailored to the needs and cognitive abilities, motor and verbal skills of the students.

GSTEF also worked with troubled youth within the juvenile justice system.

GSTEF has offered community outreach programs such as the popular USTA adult league play and junior team tennis. These are offered at a low cost.

Financial assistance has been available for those who qualify.
